What: Los Angeles City Councilmember Bill Rosendahl will join Assemblymember Ted Lieu, City officials, and community members for the grand opening of the Regional Training Facility at Fire Station 59.

The community event will feature a children's bouncer, face painting, games and prizes, food and refreshments along with free tours of the fire station and demonstrations of life safety training activities.

With the addition of the training facility, apparatus storage shed, and community room, the station will function as a regional fire station serving the entire Westside. Fire stations from the surrounding area will use the facility for hazardous materials training as well as brush training. It will also serve as a staging area in the event of a major disaster or catastrophe and a meeting place for community groups.

The facility is the newest construction under Proposition F, a bond measure appoved by City voters in November 2000.
