Community Police Academy Announcement

Happy New Year, announcing Community Police Academy

The Los Angeles Police Department invites you to attend our Community Police Academy!

On January 23, 2008, Operations-West Bureau and Operations-Central Bureau will conduct a Korean Community Police Academy for all community members.

The eleven-week course will be held at the Korean Education Center located at 680 Wilshire Place, Los Angeles, 90005. The class will meet each Wednesday evening between 6:30 and 9:30 pm. The course will conclude with a graduation ceremony on April 2, 2008.

Through the Community Police Academy, enrolled students will be encouraged to build a lasting partnership with the Department, with the ultimate goal of reducing crime and improving the quality of life in our neighborhoods.

Each community member must meet the following criteria:

•Must be 18 years or older;
•Live or work in Operations-West Bureau;(yes, Venice is in it)
•No prior felony convictions;
•No outstanding warrants;
•No pending criminal cases; and
•Must be approved by an Area Commanding Officer.

Side note: I took this course 10 years ago and found it to be very informative. If you have the time, I highly recommend anyone taking it.
