Community Meeting

March 15, 2007

Dear Friends,

During neighborhood council meetings and community events, many of you have told me how concerned you are about mansionization and the impact it is having on the character of our communities.

In response to this issue, the City's Planning Department has developed a citywide mansionization draft ordinance that would prevent new construction, additions and remodels on residentially zoned lots that are out-of-scale with the surrounding communities. If adopted, the proposed ordinance would affect all lots zoned single-family residential that are not located in a hillside area or coastal zone.

Later this month, a public hearing will be held on the Westside to discuss this very important ordinance. I encourage you to attend this meeting and express your concerns to our City's Planning Department.

The details are:

When: Thursday, March 29, 2007
Open House: 5:00pm - 6:00pm
Public Hearing: 6:30pm - 8:00pm

Where: Henry Medina West Los Angeles
Parking Enforcement Facility
11214 West Exposition Boulevard
Second Floor, Roll Call Room
Los Angeles, CA 90064

Regards,

BILL ROSENDAHL
Councilman, 11th District
